Look forward to catching up.  After college and medical school at Northwestern University, spent 27 years in the US Navy as an orthopaedic surgeon. Retired from the Navy in 1997 and am now in practice in Sun Valley, ID with my lovely wife of 39 years, Charlotte (also an orthopaedic surgeon).  Enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, tennis, fitness, and flying my Navajo.

Thank you for creating such an amazing reunion (still hoping I get there)!  Looking back, I am forever grateful Burges was as academically hard as it was -- took me until my 40's to complete my "college" degree & I KNOW those early English and Math skills served me well (still do!) in "survival" jobs while pursuing theater.

I taught in the public schools 44 years and loved it.  I guess it was just "my calling." I decided to retire so that I could travel even more while I am healthy and frisky!!!!
I knew just about everyone in HS, however I wasn't involved in much, as I was deep into competitive skating and ballroom dancing. I will always appreciate my 5 years at Burges (8th grade also) and still enjoy friendships with many of my high school classmates.
Where are you, Larry P.  Lisa H. Leslie R. Bob G. and several others?????

Worked in private sector while finishing college.  Graduated from UTEP with bachelor's and master's degrees.  Retired from El Paso ISD in 2010 as the Executive Director for Human Resources.  Under contract with Texas Association of School Boards and consult with districts regarding HR practices.  In 2013, a former colleague wanted me to "straighten out" her HR department in San Elizario.  I not only said NO, I said heck no.  But we had lunch in 2013 and I am still here as the Director for HR.  Lost my husband in 2013.  Still playing competitive tennis and blessed that I can still be on the court.

I've had a great deal of fun since finishing grad school in 1974 with a Ph.D. in Chemistry. My career has given me a great opportunity for travel to every continent other than Africa and Antartica.  My wonderful wife Sandy and I hve been married since 1979 and have two daughters, Johanna Blackburn and Erika Crow.  Erika is expecting to give birth to our first grandchild in late April.  We are living in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, NM and continue to love the desert and mountains in a bit more moderate climate then El Paso.

Seems I'm very late to this website.  I've been monitoring Classmates website since late last year and missed the note that there was a Burges H.S. MyEvent planner.  I continued my education at UTEP, graduated in 1971 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reseve serving until I separted as a Captain in 1979.  As a civilian, my 37 year working career was in insurance claims mostly at USAA in San Antonio in various claims management positions.  Happily married for 50 years.   After retirement in 2009, My wife (an Irvin H.S. grad) and I have just enjoyed life with good health and staying active with our two adult daughters and one grandchild (a very active and smart boy).  In retirement, and for the past 16 years, my hobby has been crafting acoustic guitars.  Very interesting and fullfilling pastime.  I hope to attend the reunion September 2022, but, will have to see if it fits in with travel and other life events.
